Tennis Wales Head of Participation Jamie Clewer says that an extended deal with Floodlighting and Electrical Services will help to open up tennis in Wales.

Floodlighting and Electrical Services install and maintain permanent and temporary floodlights and lighting.  Based in South Wales, Floodlighting and Electrical Services provides industry-leading floodlighting solutions to sporting clubs, universities, schools, leisure centres, councils, sports stadia, MUGA and more. With over 40 years of experience and knowledge, Floodlighting and Electricals’ expertise, customer service and attention to detail are unmatched.

The company has recently upgraded the floodlights at Stow Park Tennis Club, and installed LED floodlights at Cwmbran Tennis Club.

They have also replaced and upgraded outdated metal halide floodlights with energy-efficient 605W LED floodlights at Mackintosh Sports Club.

Funds from the new deal will be directed into Tennis Wales’ Tie Break fund for 2024. The fund will offer community grants from £500-£2,000 for projects in Wales that Tennis and Padel clubs, venues, and not-for-profit organisations in Wales that can support in delivering Tennis Wales’ participation growth targets - focusing on under-represented groups - helping to reduce inequality and meeting unmet demand in identified geographical areas of Wales.

In addition the company sponsors the Connecting Communities Award at the Tennis Wales Awards.

Jamie said: “At Tennis Wales our vision is ‘tennis opened up across Wales’. We want to grow tennis by making it relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable across the country.

“This new deal with Floodlighting and Electrical Services will help even more people in Wales have the opportunity to play tennis, particularly in areas that currently have little, or no, tennis provision.”

Gareth Thomas, Managing Director at Floodlighting and Electrical said: "We're delighted to continue our partnership with Tennis Wales and support tennis clubs across Wales and England with their floodlighting projects. Floodlights not only extend playtime on tennis courts but also enhance the overall experience for players. Our commitment is to ensure that floodlights are well-maintained and operating at peak performance. Also, in line with the UK's focus on energy efficiency, our expert services are geared towards ensuring players can enjoy their game under energy-efficient lighting solutions."
